From 3 to 6 June 2026, Performance Art Bergen (PAB) invites you to the 7th edition of the Bergen International Performance Festival (BIPF). Under the title 'amongst others, nature', the festival will take place exclusively outdoors – on Skageneset, in Manger, on Laksevåg, on Møhlenpris and in Bergen city centre.

A nomadic concept

'amongst others, nature' moves through streets, squares, transport hubs and natural landscapes between the coast and the city. Here, the place is an active partner and not just a backdrop. The festival is rooted in an expanded understanding of place and asks how landscape, infrastructure and everyday environments shape artistic processes and collective experiences.

Nine artists from seven countries

From 1 to 7 June, nine artists from seven countries will come to Bergen to develop new works in close dialogue with specific places. The artists work across movement, objects, sound and language, and explore performance as a bodily and place-related practice. Works are created that offer new perspectives on familiar environments. The audience is invited to follow the festival route or meet up at selected locations along the way. A route will be made available on PAB's social media channels. The participating artists are: Johannes Bergmark, Flávio Rodrigues, Olana Light, Sichi Li, Henrik Koppen, Katharine Meynell, Kyuja Bae, Frauke Materlik and Marit Tunestveit Dyre.

About the festival

The Bergen International Performance Festival has been organized since 2012 and has taken place seven times with different formats and artistic concepts. BIPF works to strengthen professional development in the field of performance art and make the art form accessible to a wide audience in public space.

5 June: 17:00–20:00 Performance, Laksevåg. Meet at 17:00 at the bus stop «Damsgård hovedgård».

6 June: 17:00–20:00 Performance, Møhlenpris and Bergen city centre. Meet at 17:00 at the bus stop

20:00 In line with PAB's tradition, we invite audiences and artists to a shared meal after the program – PAB's Performance Hub, C. Sundts gate 38.
